I had sort of adjusted to the new schedule this year. It involves turning off the lights around three in the morning, getting up three hours later to launch the boy to school, and going back to bed somewhere around eight until maybe noon--not quite enough sleep, but with catnaps on the couch while pushing the boy through his morning routine it's cloae enough.

This morning, though, my wife had decided that one of the boys should see the doctor, and that meant I had to stay up to drive him there and back again. The time was not entirely clear to me--I had been told ten o'clock last night, but at five minutes of nine while I was getting ready I was told ten thirty. The line at the office was long, and although I did some editing on the Quick Word radio show scripts (long neglected, I need to get back in action there), I was falling asleep in the waiting room while the boy was getting his camp employment physical. It was lunchtime by the time we were on the road again, and he needed to stop at the bank, so it was early afternoon before I returned to the computer.

I did do a bit of work on the character papers for the novels at some point, probably while I was pushing the boy toward school, but it's not much.

Also, I had made a note yesterday to drop a copy of my book What Does God Expect? into my briefcase. I'd wished I had one several times recently, but searches had failed to uncover one. This one was tucked between some Multiverser product I take to conventions, and seems to be the last one I have. I'm not sure whether to buy more or not, since I've not been able to stimulate many reviews for my efforts, and I've got some other things that should get priority, probably.

However, for the moment I'm hoping to wrap up, do dinner, and crash. That's probably not going to happen, but we can always dream.
