It was errands in the morning yesterday, as my wife and her helper had to return to the hardware store with me in tow. The afternoon started with a director's meeting which ran a bit long largely because someone had brought a stockholder guest who always seems to believe his ideas for what we ought to be doing are better than ours. After that, I was assigned the task of picking up a piece of carpet that had been purchased on Saturday, but this was also longer than anticipated. The particular carpet we had examined had a chemical stain on the underside, and the dealer said that there were two rolls of that and he could cut a good piece off the other roll, so that was what was agreed. However, the cutter did not get the message, and the piece awaiting us was the stained part. The salesman was suitably irate (toward the workers) and apologetic (toward us), but it still took time to correct the error. The afternoon ended with me taking longer than I'd hoped to put together supper for the people who would be eating at home while I was driving my son's friend back to school. That trip was stretched by traffic, so by the time I got home it was very late. I ran my laundry while putting away the supper everyone had left out, and managed to post to the Romans list although I never had the time for my morning study and was certain I'd have collapsed from exhaustion had I attempted it. Thus today I am attempting to catch up on yesterday despite also having to deal with the Monday workload including getting my mother-in-law to the store and the bank, and getting my wife and my son to work. I am now trying to determine how to make dinner a reality without losing even more time, as I'm still behind on everything and must pick up my wife in about an hour and a half. It's not promising. --M. J. Young
